Health of Seniors

  • Posted by romy on May 28, 2010 at 11:57 am

It is very odd situation not only in US but also everywhere in the world. The people who have been heroes one time, are left to themselves. The insurance companies have age limits and it becomes difficult for seniors to get the appropriate health insurance plans. The insurance companies are not interested in old population because health risks are more. The European countries view it differently. If someone has crossed the retirement age and he is health, he is considered fit for having the health insurance in Italy. The cost of insurance is same for him and young person. Many health insurance companies plainly deny the insurance policies to the seniors. The government employees and the people who have served country, need the support when they turn old. The government does little and sometimes turns blind eye to these companies. Many countries do not have regulatory systems in place which can enforce the rules on these companies. Companies must be made responsible for offering the health insurance to seniors at lower cost.

Small Businesses against Health Bill

Small businesses have their association in US and the joint views are being voiced against the health care reforms. The points raised by them include that the new laws will force the individuals to buy the health insurance. The new bill is expected to make it mandatory or pay the fine to government. There are few things which we need to understand about the bill. The bill seems to be lacking the subsidy which government plans to offer. The small business fear that the new regulations will put extra burden on them and they would be forced to pay either parts or full amount of money which will go in the health insurance costs from 2014. The health care bill must take care of the fears of small organizations which may not have enough funds to purchase the health insurance for everyone. Many small organizations run on the loans and borrowed money. It takes time to grow a business. If the costs are too much, we may see that independent contractors returning to the mainstream jobs because only established companies will be able to afford the rising costs.
